Oklahoma City National Memorial – Field of Empty Chairs and Survivor Tree

The Oklahoma City National Memorial commemorates the 1995 bombing of the Alfred P. Murrah Federal Building and includes the outdoor Symbolic Memorial featuring the Field of Empty Chairs: 168 chairs, one for each person killed in the attack. The site also preserves the Survivor Tree, an American elm that survived the blast and stands as part of the memorial landscape. The adjacent museum documents the bombing, its victims, survivors, responders, and the community response.
