Florida Brewing Company building

The Florida Brewing Company building, established in 1896, is a historic landmark in Ybor City, Tampa, and was the first brewery in Florida. Once a leading exporter of beer to Cuba, it produced 80,000 barrels annually at its peak and hosted notable visitors like Theodore Roosevelt. After closing in 1961 due to the Cuban embargo and competition, the building fell into disrepair but was restored in 1999 and now serves as a law office. It stands as the tallest building in Ybor City, rich in history and cultural significance, having once been a sacred site for Native Americans and a bomb shelter during the Cold War.
