Qala-e-Seraj

Qala-e-Seraj, or Seraj Castle, is a historic palace situated in Mehtarlam, the capital of Laghman Province in eastern Afghanistan. Constructed by Amir Habibullah Khan around 1912-13, this impressive structure was intended as a winter retreat. After undergoing a significant restoration that cost 22 million Afs and took two years to complete, the castle was revitalized in 2020. Visitors can explore its two main buildings, four towers, and a mosque, making it a fascinating site for both tourists and researchers interested in Afghan architecture and history.
