Engine House No. 2 and Hook and Ladder No. 9

Engine House No. 2 and Hook and Ladder No. 9, also known as Jersey Street Firehouse, is a historic fire station located in Buffalo, New York. Built in 1875, this 2+1⁄2-story, L-shaped brick building features a distinctive mansard roof in the Second Empire style. A hook and ladder bay was added in 1897, and after a fire in 1917, the station was rebuilt. It served the community until its closure in 1997 due to departmental consolidation. The firehouse was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 2011, making it a notable site for both tourists and researchers interested in local history and architecture.
