200 Clarendon Street (John Hancock Tower)

200 Clarendon Street, commonly called the John Hancock Tower, is a 60-story skyscraper in Boston's Back Bay named after John Hancock, the 18th-century merchant and statesman. Designed by I. M. Pei's firm and completed in 1976, the tower occupies a prominent Back Bay site and is the tallest building in Boston. The building's name commemorates Hancock's role in Massachusetts and early American history.
