Houston Music Hall

The Houston Music Hall was a prominent 2,200-seat music venue that opened in November 1937, designed by Alfred C. Finn and financed by the Works Progress Administration. It was built alongside the Sam Houston Coliseum and replaced the older Sam Houston Hall. The Music Hall hosted various performances until its demolition in 1998, after which the site was transformed into the Hobby Center for the Performing Arts, which opened in 2003, continuing the legacy of live entertainment in Houston.
