Rohrbaugh Cabin

Rohrbaugh Cabin, also known as Allegheny Cabin, is a historic log cabin situated on the scenic eastern slope of North Fork Mountain in Petersburg, West Virginia. Constructed around 1880, this charming 2+1⁄2-story log house features a unique 'double pen' design made from tulip poplar logs, measuring 26 feet in length and 16 feet in depth. The site includes additional historical structures such as a frame storage shed, a log animal pen, and remnants of a stone springhouse, alongside parts of the original Smokehole roadbed. Recognized for its historical significance, Rohrbaugh Cabin was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 1993, making it a noteworthy destination for tourists and researchers interested in West Virginia's rich heritage.
