African Meeting House - oldest extant Black church building

The African Meeting House, built in 1806 on Boston's Beacon Hill, is the oldest surviving Black church building in the United States and served as a center for abolitionist organizing and community life. It is owned and interpreted by the Museum of African American History and is a key site on Boston's Black Heritage Trail. The building preserves original architectural elements and exhibits about African American history in Boston.
