Grøns Pakhus, located on Holmens Kanal in Copenhagen's Gammelholm neighbourhood, is a historic former warehouse and retail establishment founded by Marinus Emanuel Grøn in 1825. Opened in 1863, it was a pioneer of department stores in Denmark, showcasing advanced features for its time such as hydraulic lifts and central heating. The building, designed by Johan Daniel Herholdt, is notable for its striking red brick architecture and was listed as an Industrial Heritage Site in 2009. Today, it houses various offices and the popular cocktail bar Holmens Kanal 7, making it a unique blend of history and modernity for visitors and researchers alike.
