Buffalo Bayou Park Cistern

The Buffalo Bayou Park Cistern is a decommissioned underground drinking-water reservoir built in 1926 and later repurposed as a public art and event space. The interior is supported by a forest of 221 concrete columns and features a vaulted, tiled ceiling. The site was opened for public tours and installations in 2016 under the management of Buffalo Bayou Partnership.
