Old Bakery & Emporium (19th-century commercial building)

The Old Bakery & Emporium building was constructed in 1876 and is one of Austin’s oldest surviving commercial masonry buildings. It originally served as a commercial bakery and later became a city-operated gift shop and cultural retail space. The building’s long commercial history and 19th-century construction make it a notable example of downtown Austin’s architectural heritage.
