826 Valencia (The Pirate Store & Writing Center)

826 Valencia is a nonprofit youth writing and tutoring center founded in 2002 by author Dave Eggers and educator Nínive Calegari. The storefront, operated as the Pirate Store, serves as a whimsical public face for the writing programs and fundraising. It is the flagship location of the 826 National network and provides free writing support to students in the Mission District and beyond.
