The Yucca Theater, a historic landmark in Midland, Texas, opened in 1929 and originally served as a movie and vaudeville house. Designed in an Assyrian architectural style, it features unique interior elements like gilded bulls and a two-tier balcony. After closing in 1974, the theater was restored by volunteers in 1981, preserving its original charm while updating its facilities. It now hosts the annual Summer Mummers production, a locally written melodrama followed by a comedic variety show, making it a vibrant cultural hub for performances and community events.
