Zappos headquarters relocation to downtown Las Vegas

In 2013 Zappos announced it would relocate its corporate headquarters to downtown Las Vegas, occupying the former Las Vegas City Hall site and adjacent buildings to form a downtown campus. The move placed a major internet retail company into the downtown core and was widely reported as an early example of a tech company establishing a large presence in downtown Las Vegas. Zappos' relocation was connected to CEO Tony Hsieh's broader downtown redevelopment efforts launched in the same period.
