Renwick Gallery - Smithsonian craft and decorative arts branch

The Renwick Gallery is the branch of the Smithsonian American Art Museum devoted to contemporary craft and decorative arts, housed in a historic building at 1661 Pennsylvania Avenue NW. The building was designed by architect James Renwick Jr., completed in 1859, and is listed on the National Register of Historic Places. The Renwick underwent a major renovation and reinstallation and reopened in 2015, presenting large-scale installations and craft-focused exhibitions. The gallery is located on Pennsylvania Avenue near Lafayette Square and the White House.
