Prospect Farm

Prospect Farm, built in 1857 by steamboat captain J. C. Jenkins, is a historic house located on a hill overlooking Petersburg, Kentucky. This remarkable structure showcases a unique blend of architectural styles, particularly the Italianate and Italian Villa styles, featuring a distinctive three-stage tower and semi-octagonal facade. Jenkins, who moved to Boone County in 1832, was also involved in local agriculture and distilling. The property spans 1,200 acres and was recognized for its historical significance by being added to the National Register of Historic Places in 1989. It stands as a testament to 19th-century eclectic architecture and the agricultural heritage of Boone County.
