Archaeological investigations at Mission Concepción

Archaeological investigations at Mission Concepción, managed as part of San Antonio Missions National Historical Park, have documented buried structural features of the 18th-century stone church, recovered ceramics and construction materials, and informed conservation and stabilization work. Excavations and monitoring by National Park Service archaeologists have contributed to understanding the mission's construction sequence and the material culture of mission-era residents. Findings have been used in preservation planning and public interpretation of the site.
