Tudor Mill, Ashton-under-Lyne

Tudor Mill, a historic cotton spinning mill located in Ashton-under-Lyne, Greater Manchester, was constructed between 1901 and 1903 by the Ashton Syndicate. Designed by architect Sydney Stott, the six-storey mill was notable for its impressive architecture, including a corner water tower and a distinctive chimney. At its peak, Tudor Mill employed 250 workers and was part of the thriving cotton industry that produced billions of yards of cloth. However, the mill ceased operations in the 1960s and was later used as a warehouse until it was tragically destroyed by fire in 1970. Today, the site is a reminder of the region's rich industrial heritage and the evolution of textile manufacturing in England.
