Bradgate House, Groby

Bradgate House is a fascinating 19th-century ruin located in Groby, Leicestershire, England. Originally built in 1856 for the extravagant seventh Earl of Stamford, George Harry Grey, it was designed to replace an earlier 16th-century house associated with Lady Jane Grey. The mansion, known as 'Calendar House', was notable for its impressive architecture in the Jacobean style, featuring 365 windows, 52 rooms, and 12 main chimneys. Although the house was demolished in 1925, visitors can still explore the remaining stable block, which stands as a testament to its former grandeur and the Earl's lavish lifestyle.
