Lizares Mansion

The Lizares Mansion, also known as Villa Lizares, is a stunning Beaux-Arts heritage house located in Jaro, Iloilo City, Philippines. Built in 1937 as a gift from Don Emiliano Lizares to his family, it features exquisite architectural details, including a winding wooden staircase and numerous hardwood doors. The mansion has a rich and tumultuous history, having served as a Japanese army headquarters during World War II, where tragic events unfolded. Today, it functions as the chapel of Angelicum School Iloilo and was declared an Important Cultural Property in 2024. The mansion has also gained popularity as a filming location for various Philippine television dramas, making it a point of interest for both tourists and researchers alike.
