Contracts House

The Contracts House, located in the historic Podil neighborhood of Kyiv, Ukraine, is a significant trade building known for its Classical architecture. Constructed between 1815 and 1817 after a fire destroyed the original structure, it features impressive Doric and Ionic columns and a concert hall on the second floor. Historically, it served as a venue for signing contracts and hosted notable figures such as writers Alexander Pushkin and Nikolai Gogol. Over the years, it has housed various institutions, including a Trading Academy and a Trade Museum, and currently operates as the Ukrainian Interbank Currency Exchange, making it a blend of historical significance and modern economic activity.
