Christiansholm, Gentofte Municipality

Christiansholm is a historic house located in Klampenborg, Gentofte Municipality, just 10 km north of Copenhagen, Denmark. Originally built in 1670 as a modest country house by Historiographer Royal Vitus Bering, it is considered the earliest country house in Denmark. The estate underwent significant transformations under various owners, including merchant Just Fabritius in 1746, who constructed the current building, and later, count Gustav Adolph Clauson-Kaas, who redeveloped the estate into a unique English-style villa quarter. Today, Christiansholm is owned by businessman Fritz Schur, who plans to convert it into a retreat for Nordic artists, making it a potential cultural hub for visitors and researchers interested in Danish history and architecture.
