Colman Dock (Seattle Ferry Terminal) and the Mosquito Fleet history

Colman Dock on Alaskan Way is Seattle's primary ferry and passenger terminal and was the central mainland pier for the early 20th-century 'Mosquito Fleet' of small steamers that served Puget Sound communities. The dock has been repeatedly rebuilt and expanded over time and figures prominently in Seattle's maritime history and local stories about waterfront transportation. It remains a functioning ferry terminal linking downtown Seattle to waterborne routes.
