Sculpture Falls (Barton Creek)

Sculpture Falls is a series of limestone cascades on Barton Creek within the Barton Creek Greenbelt in Austin. The pool below the cascades has long been a popular swimming and wading spot accessed via trails from Zilker Park and Barton Springs Road. Austin staff and Austin Public Health have periodically closed access to Sculpture Falls because of water-quality concerns and rapidly rising creek conditions after heavy rain. The cascades are formed where Barton Creek flows over limestone ledges typical of the central Texas hill country.
