Cupid's Span (Oldenburg & van Bruggen)

Cupid's Span is a large public sculpture by Claes Oldenburg and Coosje van Bruggen installed in Rincon Park along San Francisco's Embarcadero in 2002. The work depicts a stylized bow and arrow and is constructed from painted fiberglass and steel. It occupies a prominent waterfront location visible from the Embarcadero pedestrian path. The piece was commissioned for the redevelopment of the Rincon Hill/Embarcadero area.
