Cap's Place

Cap's Place, originally known as Club Unique, is a historic restaurant and speakeasy located in Lighthouse Point, Florida. Established in 1928, it is the oldest commercial enterprise in the area and the oldest restaurant in Broward County. The site features five wood-frame buildings, four of which are historic, and is situated on a picturesque peninsula between Lake Placid and the Intracoastal Waterway. Patrons can only access the restaurant via a free boat shuttle, enhancing its unique charm. The establishment has a rich history, having operated as a gambling den during the Prohibition era, and was added to the U.S. National Register of Historic Places in 1990. Visitors can enjoy a blend of history and scenic views while dining on fresh seafood in a setting that retains much of its original character.
