Wren Building

The Wren Building, located on the campus of the College of William & Mary in Williamsburg, Virginia, is the oldest college building in the United States, constructed between 1695 and 1700. Originally designed in the English Renaissance style, it has undergone multiple reconstructions due to fires, tornadoes, and the Civil War. The building served various purposes, including hosting the colonial government and educational activities. Its current form, restored to reflect its early 18th-century appearance, was completed in 1931 and named after the architect Sir Christopher Wren, although his direct involvement remains debated. The Wren Building continues to function as a hub for classes and services, making it a significant historical and architectural landmark for visitors and researchers alike.
