Old South Meeting House - Boston Tea Party gathering site

On December 16, 1773 colonists gathered at the Old South Meeting House to protest the Tea Act; this meeting directly preceded the Boston Tea Party when participants moved to Griffin's Wharf and dumped tea into the harbor. The meeting drew thousands and was forcibly dispersed by British authorities, prompting the action that followed. The building at 310 Washington Street now operates as a museum interpreting the event and its historical context.
