Philadelphia Museum of Art

The Philadelphia Museum of Art opened in its current Benjamin Franklin Parkway building in 1928 and became one of the largest art museums in the United States. The museum's broad neoclassical steps became widely known as the 'Rocky Steps' after the 1976 film Rocky filmed its training montage there, drawing ongoing popular attention. The museum's collections span European, American, and Asian art and are publicly exhibited in the Parkway complex.
