Schloss Esterhazy (Galanta)

Schloss Esterhazy, a Neo-Gothic chateau located in Galanta, Slovakia, was originally built in 1633 by the Esterhazy family, notable Hungarian nobles. Initially designed as a Renaissance fortress, it underwent significant transformations, including a Baroque reconstruction in 1736 and a Neo-Gothic makeover in 1861. The chateau features a U-shaped ground plan with a ceremonial staircase and a prominent four-storied tower. Although currently in a state of disrepair, restoration efforts led by local volunteers aim to revive its historical significance. The chateau's rich architectural history and ongoing restoration make it an intriguing site for tourists and researchers alike.
