Government House, Baku

The Government House of Baku, also known as the House of Government, is a significant Azerbaijani government building located on Neftchiler Avenue, facing Baku Boulevard. Constructed between 1936 and 1952, it was designed by renowned architects and originally intended to accommodate 5,500 people. The building has historical importance, having undergone various transformations since Azerbaijan's independence in 1991, when it transitioned from housing businesses to governmental organizations. Following extensive renovations completed in 2010, it now hosts several ministries, including the Ministry of Culture and Tourism. The surrounding area, including Azadliq Square, is a popular destination for tourists, making the Government House a key attraction in the heart of Baku.
