Powell's City of Books (main store)

Powell's City of Books, whose main store is at 1005 W Burnside St, occupies an entire city block and bills itself as the largest independent new and used bookstore in the world. The store contains more than a million books in multiple color-coded rooms and has been a central fixture of the Burnside/Pearl-area neighborhood since it expanded to its current location in the 1970s. Powell's regularly hosts author events and is a frequent tourist and local destination for rare and used titles.
