Gum Wall at Post Alley (Pike Place Market)

The Gum Wall is a long-standing public art installation composed of used chewing gum on a brick wall in Post Alley beneath Pike Place Market. Visitors began affixing gum there in the 1990s and it developed into a dense, multicolored covering that became a noted tourist attraction. City crews pressure-washed the wall in 2015, after which the gum returned and the site continues to be referenced in guides to Seattle street art.
