Congressional Club

The Congressional Club, established in 1908, is a historic clubhouse located in Washington, D.C., serving as the official club for congressional spouses. It is unique as the only club in the world incorporated by an act of Congress. The neoclassical building, completed in 1917 and designed by George Oakley Totten Jr., is part of the Sixteenth Street Historic District and was individually listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 2011. The club hosts an annual luncheon honoring the First Lady, its largest event, and raises funds through its Congressional Club Cookbook, featuring recipes from notable members like Bess Truman.
