Boston Celtics' eight straight NBA championships at the Boston Garden

The Boston Celtics won eight consecutive NBA championships from 1959 through 1966, a North American professional sports record for consecutive titles. During that dynasty the Celtics played their home games at the Boston Garden, where many of the championship-clinching playoff games took place. The run was anchored by players including Bill Russell and is a defining chapter in both Celtics and Boston sports history. The Boston Garden remained the Celtics’ home through 1995 before the team moved to the FleetCenter (now TD Garden).
