Colored Knights of Pythias Castle Hall

The Colored Knights of Pythias Castle Hall, located in downtown Indianapolis, Indiana, is a historic building that served as a vibrant center for the Colored Knights of Pythias organization. Built in the early 20th century in a simplified Tudor Revival style, the hall features ornate interiors with pressed metal ceilings and a grand assembly hall. Originally constructed to unify various local lodges, it housed retail spaces for Black businesses and community activities. After years of decline, the building is currently undergoing extensive renovations, supported by significant grant funding, to restore its historical significance and community role.
