Aitken University Centre

The Aitken University Centre, located on the University of New Brunswick campus in Fredericton, is a multipurpose arena built in 1976. Named after Sir Max Aitken, it has served as the home for various sports teams, including the UNB Reds hockey and basketball until 2011. The arena has hosted significant events such as the University Cup and CIS championships, with a capacity of 3,278 for ice events and 4,258 for concerts. Additionally, it was home to the Fredericton Express and Canadiens hockey teams and served as a filming location for the miniseries Canada Russia '72. The venue continues to host major curling events, making it a vibrant hub for sports and entertainment.
