Winchester Mystery House

A large Victorian mansion built and continuously altered by Sarah Winchester beginning in the 1880s; construction continued until her death in 1922. The ongoing renovations produced an irregular, maze-like floorplan and many idiosyncratic architectural features. After her death the property was opened to the public as a historic house museum and remains one of San Jose's best-known historic landmarks.
