National Capitol Columns at the U.S. National Arboretum

The National Capitol Columns are 22 freestanding Corinthian stone columns that originally formed part of the East Portico of the U.S. Capitol and were relocated to the U.S. National Arboretum, where they stand in a designed meadow and pool. The columns are carved stone architectural elements removed from the Capitol and re-erected as a landscape installation managed by the Arboretum. Their provenance and relocation are documented in National Arboretum and Capitol preservation records.
