Rockefeller Center Christmas Tree (annual Norway spruce)

Since 1933, Rockefeller Center in Midtown Manhattan has hosted an annual Norway spruce normally donated by a private owner and installed at Rockefeller Plaza for the holiday season. The tree lighting ceremony, broadcast nationally, marks a longstanding seasonal tradition in New York City. Individual trees vary year to year in height and provenance, but the event and the placement of a large spruce at 30 Rockefeller Plaza are consistent annual features.
