Casa de juntas de Puente San Miguel

The Casa de juntas de Puente San Miguel, located in Cantabria, Spain, is a historically significant meeting house known for its role in the creation of the Province of Cantabria on July 28, 1778. Originally built in 1581, it served as a gathering place for the deputies of the Nine Valleys, symbolizing their quest for independence from the Asturias of Santillana. The building features a simple stone structure with a wooden entrance and is adorned with the coat of arms of Cantabria and the municipalities of the Nine Valleys. Although the assembly ceased operations in 1824 and the original structure was demolished, it was reconstructed in 1994 as a tribute to Cantabria's origins.
