Fremantle Technical School

The Fremantle Technical School, a striking red brick building located at the corner of South Terrace and Essex Street in Fremantle, Western Australia, was established in 1913. Originally a public school, it was transformed into a technical school in 1902. Designed by architect Hillson Beasley, the building features a Federation Free Style architecture with a limestone base and Marseilles tiled roof. It includes ten classrooms and a large open hall, providing a glimpse into early 20th-century educational architecture. The foundation stone was laid by the Minister for Education, Thomas Walker, and the school was officially opened on July 16, 1913, making it a notable historical site for visitors and researchers interested in Fremantle's educational heritage.
