Make Way for Ducklings sculptures in the Public Garden

A bronze group by sculptor Nancy Schön, based on Robert McCloskey’s 1941 children's book Make Way for Ducklings, sits on a pond-side island in the Boston Public Garden. The mother duck and eight ducklings were installed in 1987 and have become a well-known piece of Boston public art. The City of Boston maintains the sculptures and they are a frequently photographed landmark in the garden.
