St. Charles City Bakery

The St. Charles City Bakery, built in 1876, is a historic brick building located in St. Charles, Minnesota. It is notable for being the last remnant of the town's original business district, which was largely destroyed by a fire in 1891. The bakery features Italianate architectural elements, including semicircular arches over its windows and doors. Originally serving as a bakery, it later became the headquarters for the St. Charles Times. The building was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1984, highlighting its significance in the theme of commerce and its role in the community's history.
