Mission Concepción's 18th‑century murals and original fabric

Mission Nuestra Señora de la Purísima Concepción de Acuña (Mission Concepción) dates to the 18th century and contains interior mural paintings from that period which survive in situ. The mission is frequently described as the oldest unrestored stone church in the United States; that characterization is commonly stated but has been discussed and qualified by some historians. It is one of the chain of missions along the San Antonio River that make up the San Antonio Missions National Historical Park.
