Alumni Hall (University of Pittsburgh)

Alumni Hall, a historic landmark at the University of Pittsburgh, was originally built as the Masonic Temple between 1914 and 1915, designed by architect Benno Janssen. This classical structure features a limestone facade, terra cotta details, and a clay tile roof. After being acquired by the university in 1993, it underwent a significant renovation to adapt it for university use while preserving its historical elements. Today, Alumni Hall serves multiple purposes, housing offices for Alumni Relations, Admissions, and various educational facilities, including a 270-seat lecture hall. The building also features the Connolly Ballroom, art galleries, and study areas. A ghost legend adds a touch of intrigue, with tales of a tuxedo-clad spirit wandering its halls. Alumni Hall is not only a hub of university activity but also a testament to Pittsburgh's architectural heritage.
