331 Somerset Street

331 Somerset Street is a historic building in Ontario, Canada, once home to Canadian Prime Minister William Lyon Mackenzie King from 1901 to 1910. This Ottawa heritage property is notable for its connection to King and his close friend, journalist Henry Albert Harper. After serving as a residence, the building transformed into an inn in 1951, attracting American tourists. It later became the Doma II Art Gallery and hosted various businesses. Tragically, a fire in 1997 led to its destruction, but it was reconstructed to match its original style and received an Award of Merit for Architectural Conservation in 1998, making it a point of interest for both tourists and researchers.
