LeBeau Plantation

LeBeau Plantation, located in Arabi, Louisiana, was a historic plantation house built in 1854 by Francois LeBeau. Known for its indigo cultivation, the house served as a private residence until 1879 when LeBeau's widow passed away. The plantation later transformed into the Cardone Hotel during the 1920s to 1940s. Unfortunately, it suffered significant damage from arson in 1986 and again in 2013, leading to its eventual destruction. The architecture features a brick first floor and a bousillage second floor, with a notable double fireplace and six supporting pillars. The site is steeped in ghost stories, including tales of a haunting white lady, making it a point of interest for both tourists and researchers fascinated by Louisiana's history and folklore.
