Old Point Loma Lighthouse (Cabrillo National Monument)

The Old Point Loma Lighthouse, built in 1855 and located within Cabrillo National Monument, served as San Diego’s original lighthouse from 1855 to 1891 and is preserved as a historic structure. Park staff and visitors have occasionally reported hearing footsteps, voices, and seeing unexplained figures in and around the lighthouse during tours and after hours, leading to its frequent inclusion on local lists of purportedly haunted sites. Such reports are anecdotal; the site is managed by the National Park Service and interpretations of these accounts vary.
