City Hall wedding-spot gag

San Francisco City Hall is a Beaux-Arts landmark whose rotunda and grand staircases are frequently used for civil marriage ceremonies; the City Clerk's office issues marriage licenses and the building hosts many weddings each year. Because wedding parties are so visible there, locals commonly joke that you're likely to stumble into a wedding when visiting City Hall. The building was rebuilt after the 1906 earthquake and remains a common backdrop for wedding photos and civic events.
